New Pitched Roof on Extension – Farnborough, Hampshire
We recently completed the construction and installation of a new pitched roof on a property extension in Farnborough, Hampshire, taking the roof from the new timber structure through to the finished tiled roof.
This project involved creating a completely new roof structure for the extension and carefully integrating the new roof with the existing property. With extension roofing, one of the most important parts of the job is ensuring that the new and existing roofs work together correctly, particularly around valleys and other junctions where rainwater is concentrated.

Once the timber structure was completed, the roof was prepared with a modern roofing membrane and new treated battens before the tiles were installed.

A particularly important element of this project was the junction between the new extension roof and the existing tiled roof.
The photographs show the new roof meeting the original roof and the valley formed between the two sections.
Roof valleys carry a significant amount of rainwater, making correct installation and detailing essential. Poorly constructed valleys are a common source of roof leaks, particularly where an extension has been added to an older property.
The new valley was carefully installed and weatherproofed to provide effective drainage between the two roof sections and create a reliable, long-term junction between the new and existing roofs.
New Tiled Roof for a Farnborough Extension
The finished tiled roof gives the extension a traditional appearance that sits naturally alongside the existing property.
Rather than the extension looking like a completely separate addition, the new pitched roof has been designed and constructed to complement the style and roofline of the original building.
